Lovely Vintage 1940's 1950's Mikimoto akoya pearl earrings 

Super condition

one of several bits of Mikimoto jewelry I have decided to sell that were inherited from my mother in law who lived out as an expat in Malaya for many years so guess these are 1940's early 1950's or thereabouts as after that she returned to the UK-she had lots of Mikimoto pieces

These were originally typical 1940-50's screw back earrings like the clearly identical earrings (but in gold) in the final screenshots that I found online and which do still bear the Mikimoto 'M' hallmark on their screw back- as a result of being adapted to suit my mother in law's pierced ears they lost their Mikimoto marking when their backs were each switched to a butterfly closure
