A well-struck and toned silver coin - a Gros - of the City of Metz. Struck between 1300 and 1500. Based on the style, probably in the middle of that range around 1400.
There are 23 of these in all grades at NGC currently, but they vary more on the quality of the engraving and strike than based on the numerical grade. We recently sold one of the only two MS-63 examples, and besides being less toned and less flatly struck in the 9:00 - 11:00 area on the obverse, it didn't look a lot better than this coin
You can see all the details of the face of the kneeling figure on the obverse including the pupils of his eyes. The reverse is fully struck with all legends legible.
