Description
This listing is for the above shown book "THE MAGIC FOREST" written by STEWART EDWARD WHITE and published in (1903) by THE MACMILLAN COMPANY. This is a FIRST EDITION FIRST PRINTING hardcover copy and is in VERY GOOD condition. The book is a story about a boy who sleepwalks off a train and into a forest in Canada where he has a great adventure with a Native American tribe. The book is nicely illustrated with six beautiful color pictures by an artist named Bleeson and numerous black and white line drawings (I don't know if Bleeson or perhaps the author did those). The exterior of the book has nice front and back covers with still good looking color and gilt lettering. The top page edges are also covered in gilt. The spine is slightly sunned and shows some light wear as do the outside corners. The clean illustrated endpapers are excellent as are most interior pages (which have no foxing). There is an inner hinge paper split and adhesive stain between pages 16/17, 68/69 and 102/103 and a stain only (which is no big deal) at 140/141, however all the pages are tight, I show the typical split in the last two photos. This is overall, even with the three page splits, a very nice copy, but please (check the photos, which I certainly have included enough of, to judge the condition for yourself). I also need to mention that there is NO DUSTJACKET. We also have other S.E. WHITE books presently listed (and buying two or more books at the same time saves lots of money on the shipping costs).
