Seller: Alley-Antiques DESCRIPTION: The price is for one antique transferware porcelain pink lusterware saucer. This is a deep well saucer. Dates circa 1820. Has a hunting Scene with 2 birds by a gun and dog. C. 1820. Unmarked. Maker unknown. Deep well saucer were used in the early to mid 1800s. When the tea was too hot to drink in the cup, the user would pour some into the deep saucer to cool quicker and sip from the saucer. Seems unusual but that was around 200 years ago. The price is for the saucer only, NO CUP.  Antique. Around 200 years old. Good condition for age. No chips, cracks, or repairs. Nice and clean. Upon close inspection you will notice some small scratches to the pink luster border (pictured). Some minor surface wear to central view. Nice example. Upon close inspection you may notice the typical transfer skips, stilt marks, bubbles in glaze, losses from sand grit, or other in- the-making manufacturing flaws typical from production from this period. Beautiful early collectible pink luster transferware deep well saucer. Measures about 5 5/8" in diameter and about 1 1/2" tall overall. Pictures are part of description.
