Fine and rare pair of Neoclassical design antique Regency Period, circa 1800-1815, Chamberlain Worcester Porcelain small covered porcelain sauce or sugar boats decorated with outstanding dark grey Neoclassical reclining figures en grisaille. Each with matching female and male classical figures on both sides of the body of the pieces and the lids with similar decoration. These are in great condition for their age with minor wear to the gilt edges and gilt decoration. The grey images are in very good condition. No damage or repairs. Inspect the images carefully for detailed condition and quality.
Each measures approximately 7 3/8" across the handles, x 4 5/8" to the top of the finial, x 4" deep.
Apparently (referenced elsewhere, I don't have access to the book) this form is illustrated in Godden's book on Chamberlain Worcester Porcelain in Plate 419 and is referred to as a London Boat form.
