Titled ENGLAND - The Castle, WARWICK. Photograph by Walter Scott
This an
ORIGINAL lithograph poster produced by the Great Britain and Northern Ireland Travel Association. After WWII the association, in an effort to boost tourism, produced many large posters with photographs of historical, cultural and scenic sites. Most were photographs by unknown photographers but sometimes celebrated photo artists, such as
Walter Scott, provided their beautiful images.
They were printed in either B&W or tinted with blue, green or sepia. This one is the blue tint.
A relative acquired this poster, and others, in England about 1950 and they were keep rolled up in a closet, basically untouched for decades, until I got them in a few years ago.
As shown in the pics it is in good condition with exception of a small tear on the bottom and discolored fraying on the bottom left side.
Large 40 in. X 25 in.
Shipped USPS Priority Mail in a round cardboard tube inside of a triangular USPS shipping tube.
