This is for an original ticket stub for the May 23 2001 game played between the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx. This would be the first time that Derek Jeter would face his old teammate David Cone, someone he had won 4 Championships with. Jeter would pummel Cone going 3 for 3 before he was replaced by Tim Wakefield. Jeter would greet Wakefield as the first batter in the bottom of the seventh with a home run to deep left field before singling off Rod Beck in the eighth for his fifth hit of the game. Everyone knows that Jeter would go 5 for 5 with a home run for his 3000th hit in 2011, but this would be the first time the captain would go 5 for 5 in his Hall of Fame career. Only one stub has been graded by PSA and this is it. If you should choose to crack it out for a number grade it should grade rather nicely. This is a must have for any Jeter collector, and a must have for the ultimate Jeter collection. This ticket, along with his 3,000 hit 5 hit game, would make great bookends for any Jeter fan.
