Why purchase a reconditioned engine?
Reconditioned engines are stripped down to their bare components and re-assembled with brand new parts as well carrying out any required machining of the existing components. As a result you are left with a high quality replacement engine which is built to a very high standard.
What is included in a reconditioned engine:
- Brand new head gasket fitted
- Brand new head bolts fitted
- Brand new piston rings fitted
- Brand new main bearings fitted
- Brand new big end bearings fitted
- Brand new rear crankshaft seal fitted
- Brand new front crankshaft seal fitted
- Brand new timing chain kit fitted
- Cylinder head pressure tested and skimmed where necessary
- Cylinder block re-sleeved and bored where necessary
- Crankshaft polished or re-grinded where necessary
Yes we also offer a fitting and recovery service should you require that
Is there an exchange policy?
Yes, all the our engines are sold on an exchange basis. We charge a £500 deposit (on top of the sale price) at the time of the transaction which is refundable upon receipt of your old engine. Once you have fitted our engine and are happy with everything we organise to collect the engine with our own courier at a collection fee of £60.

Our workshop is based in a key industrial estate in Grays, Essex specifically designed to cater to the high demands of our clients engine requirements. We also have the latest state of the art diagnostic equipment to ensure vehicles are tested before completion.

Each engine is first stripped down to its bare components. Using specialist cleaning equipment (Kerosene bath and high temperature solvent washer) all engine components are degreased and thoroughly cleaned.
All cylinder heads are pressure tested, skimmed, valve seats are cut and all valves are resurfaced.
Crankshaft journals are checked and measured to assess condition and then are polished or reground where necessary.
All engine block cylinders are professionally honed.
During the refurbishment process brand new internal components are used for the building process.
Once the engine is assembled, it is timed up with a brand new timing kit.

- Any warranty provided is non transferable
- Engine must be fitted with brand new oil filter, air filter, fuel filter and engine oil by a VAT registered garage in order to validate the warranty
- Damage caused by misuse, improper fitting, neglect, external component failure will invalidate the warranty
- Engine failure due to overheating will invalidate the warranty
- Engine oil filter and engine oil must be replaced after 1000 miles in order to validate the warranty
- Dismantling of the engine invalidates the warranty unless otherwise agreed upon with MKL Motors
- Engines are provided with travel sumps and customer are expected to use their own sump and pick up pipe
- Our engine is covered by a 12 month or 12,000 miles parts ONLY warranty providing the vehicle has a full service carried out with us at the 6-month interval. If the vehicle is not serviced with us at this point, the warranty would revert to a 6 month or 6,000 miles warranty.
- Warranty is on the engine ONLY and does not cover removal or reinstallation charges by third party garages.
