Live-action short film (partly animated) [The Witch and Her Lover] (2011-12/21 minutes 3 seconds)
*Please note: "Bones" (2021), which was shown at the same time as the theatrical release, is not included. This is because the film was made with the intention of being stored in a museum (in fact, it is also part of the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York), and the rights holder does not permit individuals to "own" it on disc or other media.

The film started its run at just three theaters but has expanded to about 70 theaters nationwide, earning over 75 million yen in box office revenue and becoming a huge hit.
The biggest event in Japan's mini-theater world in 2023.
Even Ari Aster was astonished by this "horror fairy tale" animation from Chile.
Now available on Blu-ray for the first time in the world, with 48 minutes of bonus footage including a collection of unused shots from the film and a short story never before released in Japan!

Inspired by the real-life commune of Colonia Dignidad in Chile, this is a surprisingly artistic stop-motion animation, largely completed by contemporary artists Cristóbal Leon and Joaquin Coxinha alone.
It's a labor of love that took five years to complete, and is a flood of jaw-dropping stop-motion footage that will leave you in doubt.
It won numerous awards around the world, including the Caligari Film Award at the 68th Berlin International Film Festival where it had its world premiere, and the Jury Prize at the 42nd Annecy International Animated Film Festival.
Midsommar director Ari Aster, who was so impressed with the work, has volunteered to executive produce their next short film, and has also entrusted the pair with a 10-minute sequence of combined animation and live-action footage for their latest film, Bo Is Afraid, which will be released in Japan on February 16, 2024.

[Points on the work]
★ Chile's first animated feature film became a hot topic as soon as it was released in August 2023 at only three theaters nationwide. The first weekend at Theater Image Forum in Shibuya, Tokyo, was sold out for a total of 15 screenings over the first three days, and Cinecitta Kawasaki quickly moved to a large screen with a capacity of over 400 seats from the second week... The buzz grew, and the film expanded to about 70 theaters nationwide within four months of its release, and this shocking work, which was a huge hit with box office revenues of over 75 million yen, is finally available on Blu-ray for the first time in the world! (So far, it has only been released on DVD in the United States.) With this, you can feel bad at home as many times as you want!
★In addition to the main feature, it contains 48 minutes of bonus footage, including a collection of unused shots and past short films by directors Leon and Coxinha, which will be shown in Japan for the first time!
★The eerie sound of the film, which caused a big stir in theaters along with the visuals, has been mastered for Blu-ray by world-renowned engineer Seigen Ono in both 2ch and 5.1ch, and recorded in uncompressed linear PCM.
★First press limited edition deluxe box design. The three-sided paper case contains a Blu-ray in a plastic case and a booklet.

[Synopsis]
Colonia Dignidad is a German settlement in southern Chile, surrounded by beautiful mountains. In this settlement, whose motto is "Help each other and be happy," lives a beautiful girl named Maria, who loves animals. One day, Maria lets a pig escape, and unable to bear the severe punishment, she escapes from the settlement. In a house where she takes refuge, she meets two piglets, which she names "Pedro" and "Ana," and decides to take care of them. However, her relief is short-lived as she begins to hear the cries of wolves searching for her from deep in the forest...
