PENN #2355 PASSAGE MORTISE LOCK with KEY - FULLY RESTORED - VERY NICE (14091)

Vintage, circa 1920-30, featured in their 1927 catalog: PENN passage mortise lock #2355 with key. measurements for the 2355 are identical to the model #2327 with the exception of this model (2355) having a face that is 1/8" thick instead of 1/16".  

FACEPLATE:  Mortise lock has a steel face with a length of 5 3/8" and a width of 7/8" and thickness of 1/8". Some scratches from age, but works flawlessly.   

MORTISE BOX: The mortise box itself is 3 1/4" deep from the front edge of the steel faceplate and the box 3 3/4" high.   Box is 5/8" thick.  The lock is reversible.

BACKSET: The backset (the distance from the front edge of the face plate to the center of the knob post hole) is 2 7/16".

DROP: The drop (the distance from the the center of the knob post hole to the center of the top of the round portion at the top of the key slot is 2 1/8".

KNOB POST:  The lock accommodates a standard 5/16" knob post.  

KEY: The lock comes with the key.
