A Rare George IV Hallmarked Sterling Silver Snuff Box by the Quality Silversmith Nathaniel Mills
The Snuff Box is 3 1/4" in length 2" in width and has a height of 3/4" with a substantial weight of 3.3 oz or 94 grams
The Snuff Box has an excellent design with a cast foliate edge to he base and lid and slightly raised as a thumb piece to the front of the lid with a full length hinge with an Armorial Crest in the cartouche in the centre of the lid (see photo's)
The Inside of the snuff box has a worn parcel gilt finish and hallmarked to just the lid (see photo's)
The Snuff Box is in Excellent though slightly tired Condition (see photo's)
The Hallmarks to the lid are
Duty Mark - George IV
Makers Mark - N.M
Lion Passant - Sterling Mark
No Hallmarks visible to the Base but have dated it circa 1820 by the duty mark
