Israel Public Phone Token Asimon 1953-1955 Copper Stamped with large number "8" - Rare
Israel large, holed telephone tokens (Asimon) were in use from 1953 until their replacement in 1963.
This rare token is stamped with the large number 8 above the dial block on its obverse was probably produced in 1960.
The '8' representing its price in Agorot (in that year the Agora replaced the Pruta, 10 Pruta becoming 1 Agora).
Obverse: Old style telephone dial and large number 8 above the dial block.
Reverse: Date, the word "telephone" in Hebrew and English.
