Pink Floyd's immortal masterpiece "The Dark Side of the Moon," released in 1973 and called one of the most iconic and influential albums of all time, will be released on CD and LP in commemoration of its 50th anniversary. "The Dark Side of the Moon" was released in March 1973. This major concept album, which deals with the tension and oppression of modern society and the madness lurking in the human heart, was the band's first to reach number one on the US charts. It continued to rank for 741 weeks and has sold over 50 million copies worldwide, making it a masterpiece in rock history. It also reached number two on the UK charts. The single "Money" was also a hit, reaching number 13 in the US. The ultimate sound world created by the band and engineer Alan Parsons is overwhelming. The extremely iconic jacket artwork, designed with a prism of light as a motif, was designed by Storm Thorgerson of Hipgnosis and drawn by graphic designer George Hardy.
