When displayed together with a sword, it can also serve as interior decoration for a Japanese-style room.
Usage instructions and precautions
Wiping paper... Knead the sword until it becomes soft, then wipe off the old oil from the sword. You can also use good quality tissue paper instead.
Sword oil/oil cloth...Soak wiping paper or soft Japanese paper or cloth with a certain amount of sword oil and apply a thin layer to the blade.
Oilcloth container: You can store used oilcloths in it. (It cannot be stored for long periods.)
Powder...For use with real swords. It contains abrasives, so if used on iaido swords or imitation swords, the plating will come off.
Mekugi nuki (a tool for removing nails from a handle) is used to remove the mekugi (a type of nail that holds a nail). The "Uchide no Kozuchi" type has been popular since ancient times because it is considered to be auspicious.
*Since imitation swords are molded as a single piece, they cannot be modified by removing the nails or changing the tsuba.
*Although it is possible to modify Iaido swords, please do so at your own risk.
