Toby Amies' Film "In The Court of the Crimson King - King Crimson at 50" über eine der beständigsten und gleichzeitig schwer fassbarsten Bands der Rockmusik bietet einen einzigartigen Einblick in den Arbeitsprozess einer komplexen Tourneeband, durchsetzt mit Beiträgen früherer Bandmitglieder, die einen kontextuellen Hintergrund zur Vergangenheit der Band liefern, während die jüngste Besetzung (2014-2021) kurz vor und während ihres 50-jährigen Jubiläums durch die Welt tourt. Robert Fripp verkündete in den sozialen Medien, dass King Crimson nach ihrem letzten Auftritt in Japan im Dezember 2021 "vom Klang in die Stille übergegangen" seien.
