INSTALLATION TIPS...

The lip of the holder helps protect the emblem DO NOT just attach this emblem to the emblem on your hood ornament. The best way to install it usually is to replace both footnote 1. The holder usually has about a 3/8-inch hole in the center of the holder behind the emblems.

#1 Drill a hole through the front one with a 1/8-inch drill bit DO NOT DRILL THOUGH THE BACK ONE. footnote 2

#2 Use a punch to pop the back one out.

#3 Use a wider punch and knock out the front one.

#4 Clean the mounting surface so there is no residual glue on it.

#5 Attach the emblem following these steps. It has permanent bonding tape installed. Before removing the white backing to reveal the tape place the emblem in your ornament holder. Find an appropriate thickness shim to assure a centered application, side to side. Once you are ready to install it, peal the tape cover and install it while holding shim in place. If possible, AVOID WATER APPLICATIOON FOR TWO DAYS.

1  If you are going to replace only one emblem. Carefully pry the old one out but be aware this metal isn’t very strong and can break. It usually will come out pretty easy but don’t put too much pressure on the outer edge of the holder. A wide wood chisel may be a good tool for doing this. Clean the mounting surface so there is no residual glue on it, again a would chisel is a good tool for that.

2  If there is not a hole in the ornament holder attempt to drill through the metal holder while not going through to the back emblem so you can punch it out. If needed try again with a slightly larger bit.

  • This Chevy and GMC acrylic plate has long life vinyl added to it and is laser etched. 
Design Size

  • The acrylic plate design is about 2.5 mm or 3/32" thick by about 2" wide and high to fit inside the Hood ornament emblem holder opening area.

    • Send a message with exactly what Color you want. Should you not respond quickly (1 day deadline for shipping requires quick action) I will make it with the colors that I feel most people want. Once the design is personalized there is no refund. There must be a good reason for returns.

    Acrylic art and properties 

    • This acrylic design is made and PERSONALIZED by me in Utah, USA. Acrylic is not as fragile as glass, it is hard, and has a high toughness. The acrylic plate is laser etched and should be considered like a hand crafted item, each item will vary slightly. It may have slight imperfections or scratches but they are usually not detectable. We apply materials to the acrylic and those surfaces may have some slight bumps caused by foreign material on surfaces. I strive for a great quality product and most customers agree the product looks much better than expected.
