Though
technically a variety of grass, Rox Orange Syrup sorghum grows a dramatic and
feathery field grain bursting with dense broom-like kernels of classic pale
white, alpine, and pearl. Known by a variety of names and cultivated for
multiple uses, sorghum has been the worlds fifth most exported grain crop
behind rice, wheat, corn, and barley. Rox Orange Syrup Cane sorghum is a full
sun crop performing best when sown directly outdoors after the final frost date
and should rarely, if ever, be transplanted. Plant 2-3 seeds 1 inch deep and
3-4 inches apart in organically rich, well-drained soil in full sun. Germinates
in 10-21 days, thinning back to one plant every 12 inch as true leaves
establish. The plant is a grass growing similarly to corn.
