Congress began the American Gold Eagle program in 1986, and it grew to be an international sensation. These coins are the first investment coins officially supported by the U.S. government.

A record of strength and independence is displayed in the designs. On the front side of the coin, Lady Liberty steps fearlessly into the unknown holding a torch and olive branch. On the reverse is a beautifully made likeness of the bald eagle, Americas symbol of freedom. Every 1/10 oz Gold American Eagle contains .9167 fine gold.

These coins are not obtainable for purchase directly from the United States Mint. Instead, they are marketed by using an established system of authorized purchasers, such as APMEX.
