Control effects lined up on a pedal board, all in one place. In changing the sound while playing an instrument, employing a programmable switcher has various advantages, such as improving operability and reducing mistakes.

Once used only on large, large-scale systems, switchers have made many advances and are now at the feet of many players, controlling a wide variety of systems.

The ability to accumulate detailed settings and combine various devices for complex control is another major advancement. On the other hand, those switchers can be overfunctional for systems that do not require that much functionality.

Seeking a programmable switcher that can be installed more easily. Keep the functions as simple and compact as possible. But can we make one that can control the entire pedalboard?

We did not want to limit the functions to simplicity, but to keep the size small and compact to the limit. The Agamidae Tail Loop is another switcher that is the product of great progress.

The One Control Agamidae Tail Loop is a programmable switcher that offers six effects loops in a remarkably compact size.

The six effect loops are connected in series, as in the most standard pedalboard.

A maximum of 100 different programs can be stored (20 banks x 5 presets). Depending on the number of presets actually used, the number of banks used can be set from 2 to 20, allowing for many styles while maintaining ease of operation.

Each effect loop is a relay-type true bypass, and a master bypass function is also provided to bypass all effects with the flick of a switch.

Powered by a standard 9V center-minus DC power supply, the unit also has six DC OUTs on the main unit, which can be used to power effects devices connected to the effect loops.

The Agamidae Tail Loop has a recall mode, an edit mode, and a direct mode. When the DIRECT switch is in the DIRECT side, the BANK footswitch enters the direct mode. In edit mode, the six footswitches can be used as direct mode to turn each effect loop on and off. Once you have created a sound, you can save a preset to the selected program by simply returning to Recall mode.

In direct mode, each footswitch corresponds to 6 loops and can be switched ON/OFF. Operations in Direct mode do not affect presets.

Switching the PROGRAM/DIRECT switch while in edit mode/direct mode does not switch modes, so you can immediately check the sound or turn individual pedals on and off at any time.

■Cycle selectable bank select

In order to keep the Agamidae Tail Loop as compact as possible and to pursue functionality without losing ease of use, we adopted a single footswitch bank select system. Pushing the BANK/LOOP1 switch in recall mode raises the bank number by one and returns to Bank 1 when the maximum bank is reached.

■Active bank number that can limit the range of use

The Agamidae Tail Loop allows you to set the active bank number actually used in the range from 2 to 20. For example, if you decide which bank to use for each song, you can set the bank number according to the song you actually play on stage.

■Master Bypass

The Agamidae Tail Loop can be set to master bypass, which bypasses all effects loops, by pushing the currently selected program switch. The master bypass can also be disabled if it is not needed.
