When the smoke cleared, only two teams stood: the Mississippi State Bulldogs and the Vanderbilt Commodores. They would face off in Omaha, Nebraska in the 2021 College World Series. Vanderbilt, a college baseball powerhouse, seemed to be well on their way to another national championship, winning Game 1 by a score of 8 runs to 2. Yet the Bulldogs fought back from the deficit, winning Game 2 13 runs to 2. In the final Game 3, they shut Vanderbilt out, winning the game 9-0!
