Hybrid drive with simple operation and uncompromising sound quality in a sophisticated body
BOSS's 200 Series is the next generation of pedals with high-quality sound and high versatility in a compact size design for easy pedalboard layout. The simple-to-use control knobs and multifunction footswitches make sound creation intuitive and easy. All models in the 200 Series offer best-in-class sound quality thanks to advanced internal 32-bit floating-point processing. The OD-200 Hybrid Drive also offers a full range of control functions via external footswitch, expression pedal, and MIDI connection.
The OD-200 Hybrid Drive is a next-generation overdrive/distortion pedal that combines BOSS' long-accumulated know-how with innovative technology to deliver uncompromising sound quality, playability, and flexibility. The pedal features a hybrid analog/digital circuitry, 12 unique modes, 3-band EQ, and pre- and post-boosters that allow guitarists to achieve any drive sound they desire. The new gate can also be used to create tight, crisp riffs and other modern sounds.
Version 1.1 Update: Expanded User Memory
The Version 1.1 update further enhances the flexibility of the 200 Series. The internal memory has been enhanced, greatly expanding the number of user memories, including manual settings, from 5 to 128. Stored memories can be quickly accessed via the pedal switch or directly recalled from an external MIDI device via Program Change.
The Version 1.1 update can be downloaded free of charge from the DOWNLOADS page of each 200 Series product.

Next-generation distortion pedal with hybrid design
The OD-200's next-generation hybrid circuitry combines analog and digital clipping circuits to create a versatile and expressive drive sound. The three drive modes, each bearing the "X" designation designed by BOSS's proprietary MDP technology, provide high resolution, wide range, and dynamic response. In addition to the high-gain Brown mode inspired by the BOSS KATANA Amp series, the BOSS KATANA Amp features a total of 12 diverse and distinctive drive sounds, including overdrive, fuzz, and distortion.
A wide variety of boosters and connection methods expand the possibilities for sound creation.
The 12 drive modes, which serve as the main distortion, are powerful enough to be used by themselves, but they can be combined with 15 different boosters to create an even wider variety of sounds. In series connection, the use of a booster in the first stage provides the standard approach of boosting the main distortion, while the volume of the second stage can be increased to create a well-balanced setting for backing and soloing. In parallel connection, the main distortion sound can be blended with the booster sound. This expands the possibilities for sound creation, such as a high-gain yet core sound.
Gate section that shows its power in sound creation
The OD-200 is equipped with an advanced gate section to keep distortion sounds clear at all times. By adjusting the DECAY and THRESHOLD settings, the OD-200 can also be set up for modern riffs with tight, crisp low frequencies favored by guitarists who use down-tuning or multi-string guitars.
Intuitive interface for easy operation
Despite its many advanced features, the OD-200 is as simple to operate as a typical distortion pedal. In all drive modes, gain and volume can be adjusted on the main panel, and tone can be instantly adjusted with the wide range of LOW, MIDDLE, and HIGH EQ knobs. The PARAM button, LED status indicator, and PARAM knob make it easy to set up boosters and gates.
Save/Recall Favorite Settings
Sounds meticulously set up on the OD-200 can be stored in 127 user memories. When combined with manual settings that reflect the settings on the panel, a total of 128 sounds can be switched and played. The footswitch on the main unit can be used not only for sequential memory switching, but also for selecting the range of switching, specifying a memory number for direct recall, and other actions according to the player's needs. This makes it ideal for integrated control with external MIDI devices.
Highly flexible real-time control
The footswitches on the main unit can be used to assign functions as needed, such as turning effects on and off, turning boosters on and off, and switching memory. Expandability of external control is also high, and additional footswitches or expression pedals can be added for even greater control over the drive sound. The space-saving design also features a stereo mini jack MIDI input/output, allowing simultaneous switching of multiple 200 Series memories or integrated control using BOSS' Effects Switching System ES series.
