On Green Day’s album *Dookie*, Billy Joe Armstrong’s guitar tone was characterized by dirty, punchy, fast, and melodic riffs.

The secret to that sound was the use of two amplifiers. One was recorded with the gain turned up, while the other was set to emphasize the midrange. The two sounds were then blended in varying proportions depending on the mood of each track.

The MXR® DOOKIE DRIVE™ PEDAL is a reissue of the MXR® DD25, which was originally released in 2019 in a limited global run, now featuring a special design.

The V3 features a design that prints the unicorn appearing on the cover of “Father Of All…”—the band’s first album in four years, scheduled for release in February 2019—onto its aluminum housing.
