This is a reproduction harness. It has all the same circuits and functionality of the original Yamaha harness. It uses the same Japanese wiring coloring scheme as the original. It is not an "exact" duplication of the original but is a close as we could make it with what's available now in 2023 vs what was available in 1985. And again, the harness retains all the circuits and functioinality of the original. We've sold hundreds of these over the last few years, see our feedback.

There are some things which are no longer available. For instance, the chocolate and dark green wire used for the turn signal circuits. So these are substituted with a brown wire with white tracer and different shade of green. 

This harness has been updated with modern blade type fuse box.

This harness uses a corrigated plastic loom vs the pvc loom of the original.

Most of the connector blocks will plug directly into the existing plugs of the sub-harnesses and components; However, Yamaha used different connectors for the catalytic converter and CDI for the 1984 vs 1985 models. For these components the harness is supplied with both sides of the connector.

Economy Cycle provides limited support for this harness. If you have no experience with motorcylce wiring, ignition and charging systems, we recommend having this installed by a trained mechanic. If installing yourself, we recommend having a wiring diagram and multi-meter handy when installing the harness. If you get stuck or can't get a circuit to work, write to us and we'll help you get it sorted; that being said we can't do it for you or spend hours supporting you.

Sometimes customers receive this hanress, open up the headlight bucket and start comparing wire colors and then tell us nothing matches or wire colors are wrong. This is because there's several sub-harnesses from the switches and dash board and other direct connections in the bucket besides the main harness. This auction is for the main wiring harness only, part no. 48H-82590-50-00.

Other years and foreign versions of the RZ350 - We have customers that have adapted these harnesses to later European and Canadian RZ350's 1986-1989 models. We do not know what changes are required. This harness is very similar to the early bikes 1983-1985 sold in Europe, Candada, Australia, & NZ. Again, we do not know what changes are required to adapt it to these models.
