Sandi Horton - Native Flute Journeys 2.
Sandi has performed her poetry since 2013 in numerous venues mostly in Texas. She has four published poetry books and has edited eight poetry anthologies. She was the writer-in-residence for the Langdon Review of the Arts in Texas in 2018.
* Sandi composed and performed all the songs on the CD Native Flute Journeys released in June 2018. She actively performs using a variety of native flutes and usually reads poetry corresponding to the compositions.
*Native Flute Journeys 2 was released in March 2020. Twelve original compositions are performed by Sandi on 7 different native American style flutes. More information can be found on the Native Flute Journeys Facebook page.
*In 2019, she performed her native flute compositions in Santa Barbara, California at UCSB for the ARAS International Conference. She also performed as a soloist at Palo Pinto Music Festival in Texas and Medicine Park Art and Music Festival in Oklahoma.
*The Horton Duo (guitarist Jeff and flutist Sandi) performs music at arts events and for non-profit organizations. We have four CDs - Celtic, Christmas, World Music, and American Jazz Standards. We also play Broadway favorites, Beatles music, Renaissance and classical music, and other classic rock pieces.
*The Horton Duo plays music for special occasions such as receptions, non-profit events, private parties, and dinners.
*Sandi promotes the arts by serving on the advisory board for the Cultural Arts of Waco, as chairperson of WordFest for the Waco Cultural Arts Fest for many years.
*Sandi previously wrote a music blog for the Waco Trib to support local musicians.
