For the Mets the only notable moment was a Home Run by Ed Kranepool of Bob Gibson in the 8th.

In the Night cap the Mets returned the favor by defeating the Cardinals 4-1. Game was Highlighted by Ron Swoboda going 2 for 4 with 2 RBI.
