Roland TR-8S
The TR-8S is born from the genes of previous Roland rhythm machines, and is a collection of ideas for bringing the best sounds of the past to the latest track creation. You can create your own original kits by freely combining legendary drum sounds, importing your own sounds into the TR-8S and adding them to your kits, or using a selection of preset sounds. The TR-8S also features velocity-compatible instrument pads, independent tuning knobs for each instrument, and effects to add color to your patterns, all in one unit. These features expand the possibilities of track creation not only for live performances but also in the studio.
NEW PRODUCT
Evolving Rhythm Performer
The TR-8S was born from the genes of previous Roland rhythm machine models, and incorporates a variety of ideas for utilizing the best of Roland's classic sounds in the latest track creation. The sounds of Roland's original ACB (Analog Circuit Behavior) TR-808, 909, 606, 707, and 727 have been further brushed up with a new sound engine. The sound engine is now even more refined and accurate.
Fusion of ACB and sample sounds
Effective sounds are indispensable for coloring rhythm tracks. The TR-8S can now import original sample sounds, dramatically increasing the flexibility of rhythm tracks. The pitch and decay of the sampled sounds can be controlled in real time, just like the TR sounds. Samples can also be played back in reverse and speed can be adjusted. The 11 instruments can be assigned to either ACB or sample sounds from the TR, so you can combine ACB and sample sounds to create a rhythm track for a variety of genres. The 11 instruments can be assigned TR's ACB sounds or sample sounds, so you can combine ACB sounds and sample sounds to create your own original drum kits for various genres.
Drumatic Effects
Effects are the key to the presence of a rhythm track. The TR-8S is equipped with a variety of effects that are ideal for percussion sounds, such as delays for rim shots, filters for cymbals, and reverbs for snares. In addition, assignable controllers on each instrument allow real-time control of effects for each instrument. The assignable controller for each instrument can also be assigned to drum instrument parameters such as kick attack and snare snap. The controller assignments and parameter values can be saved together as a kit, dramatically increasing the efficiency of live performances and track production.
Evolving Pattern Making
The TR-8S features TR-REC, which is highly regarded for its intuitive and speedy rhythm programming. 16 TR-REC pads and a newly added velocity-compatible instrument pad allow for a wide range of rhythm programming options for live performances. The combination of 16 TR-REC pads and the new velocity-capable instrument pads expands the range of your live performances. The TR-8S features sub-steps for a wide variety of fills, flams, and rolls, and the number of steps per instrument can be adjusted. The number of steps can be adjusted for each instrument, allowing you to experiment with complex polyrhythms.
Record Ideas Quickly
The TR-8S can record up to 128 patterns. Each pattern can contain up to 8 variations and 2 fill-ins, allowing you to experiment with a wide variety of live performances and rhythm track variations. Improvisation is also possible, as patterns can be copied and other patterns can be edited even while the pattern is playing. Each pattern also stores the tempo and kit used, so it is possible to create a combination of patterns and kits.
Motion Recording: Record the time of the flow of the music.
The TR-8S can record parameter values for each step. You can change the filter parameters for a particular step and use it as an accent, or create a melody by changing the tuning little by little. Parameters can be recorded even during pattern playback, and recorded parameter values can be temporarily disabled. The parameters can be recorded even while the pattern is playing, and the recorded parameter values can be temporarily disabled.
Assignable outputs for greater flexibility in mixing.
The TR-8S is equipped with six assignable outputs. The TR-8S is equipped with six assignable outputs for greater flexibility in production and live performance. The analog outputs are equipped with a 24bit/96kHz DA converter. The 24bit/96kHz DA converter on the analog output delivers a clear, punchy sound with a wide dynamic range.
Trigger Out and External Input
The TR-8S is equipped with an independent trigger out terminal. The TR-8S is also equipped with a dedicated trigger track, allowing the TR-8S to work organically with vintage sequencers. An external input (EXT IN) jack is also provided, allowing you to mix the sounds of external devices with those of the TR-8S, adding to the TR-8S' unique and powerful effects.
Audio & MIDI Interface
The TR-8S has a built-in USB audio interface. The TR-8S has a built-in USB audio interface that allows you to send assignable outputs or individual instrument sounds to your DAW in multi-channel mode. The TR-8S also has built-in MIDI interface functionality, allowing for synchronization with and triggering from a DAW, and when connected to an AIRA Link-equipped MX-1 MixPerformer, complete synchronization and audio transfer is possible with a single USB cable.
Sophisticated design for musicians
The operability has also been greatly brushed up so that the functions greatly enhanced in the TR-8S can be handled freely. The shape and placement of knobs and faders, panel color scheme, and other aspects of operability have been further refined. Color LEDs are used for each fader, and each kit can be customized as desired. The faders are not only aesthetically pleasing, but also provide quick visual identification of which kit is loaded and the mute status of each instrument.
Total Recall.
Losing all the kits and patterns you have built is nothing short of a nightmare, and the TR-8S can back up all the data on the main unit to an SD card. The TR-8S can back up all data to an SD card, so even if something should happen, you can restore all settings, including kits and patterns, and recreate your previous performance.
