By popular demand we've decided to offer a range of saw plates for you to repair or restore your favorite backsaw or even build a backsaw from scratch.
We've been fitting
these plates to saws that we've restored for some time now and had
excellent results, more recently we've been making saws from scratch and
have been commissioned to make several custom plates for customers
project saws including a monster 19" replica of a John Kenyon tenon saw
as found in the Seaton tool chest.
The
steel stock we carry is high carbon spring steel, the same stuff that
all the modern traditional saw makers such as Lie-Nielsen, Badaxe saws
and Florip toolworks use for their saws. We keep a stock of 0.4mm,
0.5mm, 0.6mm and 0.7mm. These 4 gauges will coover everything from the
finest of dovetail saws up to the heaviest of tenon saws.
We've
created a seperate listing for each gauge and added a list of popular
sizes on the listing, the price displayed is for a parallel blade of the
size listed, if you would prefer a canted (tapered) plate please
message us upon purchace and we'll be happy to cut it to your
preference. If the size you require is not listed, drop us a message
and we'll be happy to make a plate to your specifications.
This listing is for 0.6mm gauge plate most often used for Carcase, Sash and smaller Tenon saws.
The plate is supplied without teeth unless toothing is specified.
Toothing
is available at £10 per plate, Please select the toothed option on the
drop-down menu and let us know the TPI and rake angle you require with a
message upon purchace.
We
can cut 8, 9, 10,11, 12, 13, 14, 15 or 16 points per inch and 0-30 degrees rake.
Toothed plates are supplied toothed but not sharpened or set, this is to
be carried out after installation and to the users preference.

the pictures are a couple of pictures of one of our dovetail saws, an
example of how the teeth look as supplied in this case, 10tpi 10 degree,
a custom 19 inch canted saw plate, and an example of an antique Disston
back saw that's been fitted with one of our plates.
Please
be aware that these plates are made to order and are not available for
immediate dispatch, we aim to make one batch a week usually on a Friday
afternoon. Please allow 10-14 days for manufacture and delivery.
