Truelove rubber dog boots: high-top, anti-slip paw protection for hiking, uncomfortable pavements and sore paws.

Genuine Truelove®. Official UK distributor. Same-day dispatch.

These Truelove® rubber dog boots are the sturdier, higher-cut boot in the range, made for real outdoor use. A thick, anti-slip rubber sole grips wet rock, gravel and snow, a high-top soft-shell upper rises further up the leg to keep out wind, wet and cold, and two long adjustable straps with 3M reflective detailing hold each boot firmly in place. Hard-wearing microfibre leather trim protects the edges that take the most wear. A wide-seam opening makes them easier to slip on, even on a wriggly paw. Sold in eight sizes to suit small dogs up to large breeds.

Please read: the price is for one single boot

The price shown is for one single boot, so you can replace just the one your dog needs or buy only the paws you want to cover. For a full set of four, add two Left boots and two Right boots to your basket. Buy four or more and the multi-buy discount, up to 20% off, is applied automatically, and a set of four is dispatched in a box. Please choose your Left and Right boots carefully at checkout.

Rubber sole and high-top: what makes this boot different

If you want the most protective boot Truelove make, this is it. The sole is thick, moulded rubber for serious grip and durability on rough ground, and the upper is cut higher up the leg than a standard bootie, so it stays put and keeps more of the paw and lower leg covered. That makes it a favourite for hiking, muddy fields, gritted winter pavements and snow. The straps carry 3M reflective detailing for low-light visibility on early and late walks.

Find the right size

Boots are sized by paw width, from #1 to #8. To measure, stand your dog on a piece of paper, mark the paper at each side of the widest part of the paw, then measure between the marks with a ruler. Match that width to the table below. If your dog is between two sizes, choose the larger one.

Size Paw width
#13.5cm / 1.4in
#24.0cm / 1.6in
#34.5cm / 1.8in
#45.0cm / 2.0in
#55.7cm / 2.2in
#66.4cm / 2.5in
#77.0cm / 2.8in
#87.5cm / 3.0in

For the most secure fit, fasten both straps firmly. The two long straps are there to stop the boot slipping or spinning on the leg, which matters most on the higher-cut rubber boot.

At a glance

When your dog needs them

Hiking and rough terrain

This is the boot to reach for on a proper walk. The thick rubber sole grips rock, gravel and forest trails, protects pads from sharp stones and flints, and the high-top cut helps the boot stay on over uneven ground. If your dog joins you on hikes and long country walks, these are built for it.

Snow, cold, salt and grit in winter

In winter the high-top upper and rubber sole keep paws up out of snow and off cold, wet ground, away from road salt, grit and the chemical ice-melt and antifreeze that can irritate and crack pads. Warmer, cleaner paws, and no more wiping muddy feet at the door.

Hot pavements in summer

Tarmac and paving can get hot enough to burn paw pads on a sunny day. A pair of boots for the early morning and late evening walk protects your dog's feet and gives you peace of mind through the summer. However, we only recommend using dog boots when temperatures are moderate. Boots are not a substitute for avoiding extreme heat, and we strongly advise against walking your dog during the hottest part of the day, when pavements can become dangerously hot. Whenever possible, stick to early morning or late evening walks, choose shaded routes, and always check the pavement temperature with your bare hand before heading out.

Sore, ageing and healing paws

Paws wear and become tender as dogs age, and a boot can protect a dragging or knuckling paw. Owners also use these to shield a healing cut, a sore pad or a paw recovering from treatment, keeping it clean and covered on walks. For any injury or medical issue, please follow your vet's advice, a boot is there to help, not to replace care.

Made to last

Truelove build these boots with a thick anti-slip rubber sole, a high-top soft-shell upper, hard-wearing microfibre leather trim and long straps with 3M reflective detailing, finished for real, everyday use. They are hand washable, so a quick clean keeps them ready for the next walk. As the official Truelove® UK distributor, That Dog only ever supplies genuine Truelove products, never imitations.
