An original antique map of GLOUCESTERSHIRE (Comitatus olim sedes Dobunorum) by Saxton & Kip. First published in Camden's Britanniain 1607, this map is the 3rd (and final) edition of 1637, with plate number 12 and with verso blank. The map is uncoloured (as published) and unmounted with a printed area of 310x260 mm. It features an elaborate strapwork title cartouche, mileage scale, compass rose, dividers and the royal arms. The map shows in detail the county's towns, villages, rivers, hills and estates. The map has good margins and is a clean and clear impression in excellent condition.
