Unusual properties of moldavite
Moldavite - a formation of meteorite origin - is a very unusual dark green stone of the tektite group.

The origin of moldavite is associated with the fall of a large meteorite about 14.7 million years ago. They appeared at the moment of impact of a meteorite on the surface of the Earth as a result of melting and solidification of terrestrial rocks, fragments of which scattered a great distance from the place of explosion. These fragments of remelted rocks were called Moldavites. Moldavite allows to reveal intellectual abilities.

It is believed that it contains not only the universal power, it also gives access to various levels of cosmic information. Moldavite helps to develop psychic abilities and establish communication with higher powers.

An exact match for the signs of the zodiac has not been identified. The stone talisman is most correct to select "for the task" or intuitively, if the stone attracts and is very pleasant. Take it in your hand, hold it a little, think about your task and if you feel comfortable feeling this stone in your hand, then it definitely suits you.

How to distinguish moldavite from a fake
The name "Moldavite" is derived from "Moldau" - the German name for the Vltava River, in the upper reaches of which the first Moldavites were found. In the Czech Republic, Moldavite is also called "vltavin", but outside the country the name is little known. Sometimes you can also find the name "bottle stone", and the color really moldavite is similar to bottle glass.

Moldavite has good characteristics - the stone has high hardness, is transparent and translucent, has a rich green color, glassy luster and lends itself well to processing. Untreated moldavite stones often have a specific surface, consisting of many irregularities and bumps, which looks quite impressive, and therefore moldavite stones are often only slightly polished.

The highest valued are round, deep green moldavites, although there are brown and black moldavites. Many moldavites contain inclusions in the form of gas or liquid bubbles inside, but this does not reduce the price of stones.

The price of moldavite is quite high, since this gem is mined only in one place - the Czech Republic. Although Moldavites are rarely found in Moravia, a neighboring country to the Czech Republic, the Moravian Moldavites are of a lower quality and have a brownish tint. And the price of moldavite is only growing as the reserves of moldavite are being depleted.
