
Russian Imperial Cavalry Officer's Sword-Knot (troddel) - black leather with silver edges
High quality replica - made of natural leather with silver stitching along the edge and a brush fluffed at the end.
Established by Orders on the military department No. 151 and 210 of 1881, No. 303 of 1906 and No. 44 of 1909. It was prescribed for wearing with Asian-style sabers and shashkas, as well as in the Cossack guards units. Long-line weapons without a Sword-Knots were not carried either in formation or out of order.
It is noteworthy that according to the "Rules for Wearing Uniforms by Officers of All Arms," the cavalry's Sword-Knot, it is indicated that it is sewn "from a black leather belt sewn in silver." However, in practice, equally often genuine cavalry Sword-Knots were common with both leather and cloth ribbons.
