Sitting Too Low? Can’t See Over The Dash?
If you have older BMW 320is Recaro seats in your 320i, 2002, or other Bimmer, an older factory Porsche 911 seat, or any older Recaro seats in any other car (VW), you probably know what I'm referring to. The seat bottom webbing in the old seats disintegrates with time. These will replace the single sling type straps common to the VW and aftermarket Recaro seats. The solution, seat webbing custom built to fit vintage Recaro seats.
Included in this listing are the following:
- 6 new 3-inch wide 10-inch long elastic webbing straps, 3 for each of your seats. The 10" long straps are designed to stretch to a length of approximately 12 inches, the distance between each metal securing hook. The seat pan hook holes are approximately 14 inches apart. The straps are approximately the same width as the original factory straps.
- 12 new strap securing hooks, 6 for each seat. These hooks are replicas of the originals and are made of 1/8-inch diameter steel wire, and are slightly thicker than the original Recaro hooks.
- Approximately 15 new “hog-ring” clips to secure some of the upholstery to the straps or the strap hooks.
Shipping will $8 in the US, $25 everywhere else in the world the USPS delivers to. I ship within 1 day and you should have them within 3-5 days. No reason to wait several weeks for an order to be delivered from Turkey or Europe.
Thanks for checking out this item.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS. There are four vintage Recaro seat base designs.
- If each of your seats have 3 straps secured by 6 metal hooks, then simply remove your seats from the car, removed the old webbing and hooks from the seat pans. Remove any hog-ring clips necessary to complete the job. Using the original hooks, install the new webbing straps. Stretch them so they fit tightly. Install new hog-ring clips as necessary using some pliers. Reinstall your seats. It’s that simple.
- If your old Recaro seats are fit with a single sling-type suspension with 6 hook holes on each side of the seat pan, then cut the wires from the slings and create 6 hooks per seat to attach the straps in this kit. You will likely need some diagonal cutters and some needle nose pliers. Works like a charm! Many VW GTI and Porsche 911 owners have done the mods without any problems.
- If your old Recaro seats are fit with a single sling-type suspension with 5 hook holes on each side, then remove the old slings, retaining the wires and hooks. Slide the new straps onto the wires, keeping the original hooks in place, and install the new 3-strap sling onto your seat.
- If your old Recaro seats have 4 straps per seat pan, then you will need to purchase this kit and 2 extra straps for an additional $15. Message me so I can create a custom offer.
