Lego Extreme Team set number 6584, Extreme Team Challenge, was produced in 1998 and contains 354 pieces (as per Peeron.com web site), which is inclusive of 4 mini figures, 4 mini figure caps, 4 mini figure helmets with flame pattern, 1 mini figure life vest, 4 black helmet visors, 2 handheld radios, 1 non-opening backpack, 1 grappling hook, 1 binoculars, 1 zip line handle, 1 ice pick, 1 rectangular rock, 1 triangular rock, 1 inflatable boat, 1 three wheeled motorcycle, 1 black snake, 1 parrot, 3 translucent neon green whip antennas, twin chromed exhaust pipes, 1 translucent light blue windscreen, 4 balloon tires, 1 cloth tent with extreme team logo and one 32 x 32 raised baseplate with mountain and river pattern.   The set was purchased new by the seller in 1998, is 100% complete and in excellent used condition, which means that there is minimal overall wear on the set’s pieces.   Includes the original Lego building instruction book for the set which, except for a small tear on the upper left side of the cover, is otherwise in excellent, almost like new, condition.

The set provides for the construction of (1) a suspension bridge with ramps at each end, (2) a camping area with cloth tent and trap door, (3) a 3 wheeled motorcycle, (4) 1 small all-terrain vehicle, (5) 1 large all-terrain vehicle with balloon tires and (6) a mountain with rock formations that can be triggered to create a rock slide.

One end of the suspension bridge is held in place by a torsion pin, which allows the bridge to be rotated from side-to-side to simulate the effects of a wind storm.   The ramps at each end of the suspension bridge are hinge mounted, which allows them to be easily raised and lowered and placed into any desired angled position.

The cloth tent is in mint condition—it has never been placed on the tent frame and that is why it was not placed on the tent frame for the photos of the set.   The floor of the tent has a trap door that collapses when the handle that controls the support for the trap door is rotated.

The rock formations that are on the front face of the mountain are mounted on a fully rotatable base that when rotated left or right causes a rock slide to take place.

The small open topped all-terrain vehicle has spring loaded shock absorbers to facilitate travel over rough terrain.   The clip mounted spotlight mounted on the front of the vehicle is easily adjusted into any desired position.   The vehicle’s steering handle is clip mounted, which allows it to be easily placed into any desired angled position or into a fully upright position.

The large open topped all-terrain vehicle has balloon tires, twin chromed exhaust pipes and a reel with rotatable drum to which the grappling hook is attached.   The grappling hook can be used to create a zip line from the mountain to the all-terrain vehicle.   The vehicle’s engine components are hinge mounted, which allows them to be easily placed into an angled position or a fully upright position.   The vehicle’s translucent neon green whip antenna is clip mounted, which allows the antenna to be angled or placed in a full upright position.

The 3 wheeled motorcycle’s front tire frame is fully articulated, which makes it easy for the motorcycle to make turns.

The set was built and then disassembled by the seller to ensure completeness.   The set is shipped disassembled.
