Whether you are not sure which wood works the best with your engraver or woodburner or you would just like to see which looks best, why not try our sample lot of 48 wooden blanks. Hand cut wooden blanks are made in the USA and are great for keychains, name tags or craft projects. They are perfect for use with your electric or laser engraver or for woodburning.
You get two each of our small and large ovals as well as our small and large rounded rectangles in all six species of wood that we carry: alder, ash, basswood, cherry, maple and oak. Our small ovals are cut from 3/16" wood and are approximately 1 1/4" x 3". Our large ovals are cut from 3/16" wood and are approximately 1 5/8" x 2 3/4". Our small rounded rectangles are cut from 3/16" wood and are approximately 1 1/4" x 3". Our large rounded rectangles are cut from 3/16" wood and are approximately 1 5/8" x 2 9/16". These do not come with a drilled hole. They are made to order and come in wholesale lots of 48, 2 of each blank pictured. They can be ordered finished in natural Danish Oil or left unfinished.
Please remember that within each species of wood, there will be variations in color, pattern and grain.
We offer our wood blanks in alder, ash, basswood, cherry, maple and oak. Because of the variety of engravers and laser engravers available, there really isn't a best wood to use. It depends on your machine, what you are using it for and your own personal preference. Alder, cherry and maple are the most popular woods used for engraving but we've sold plenty of oak as well as ash and basswood too.
