An original antique road map (in ribbon form) of the route between Marlborough and Bristol (with an extension from Bristol-Huntspil). The map, published in John Ogilby's Britannia in 1675 (1st edition), is unframed, unmounted and hand coloured. The printed area measures c440x335mm.  The map features a scrolled title cartouche with putti. Geographically the route extends from Marlborough through Calne and Chippenham to Bristol. The route then extends from Bristol to Hunspil via Axbridge. Among the named geographical features are the River Avon, the Mendip Hills and the Severn estuary. The map has good margins (which are slightly toned) and is in very good condition.
