SMC-108 The Miklos Mine

The Miklos Mine is one of our newest and most unique mine scenes. This casting has a lighted mine shaft and comes complete with timber, track, and even a rock finish inside the tunnel. The scene itself is crafted with shear rock cliffs, buildings, a tent, a wrecked vehicle, and of course a retaining wall made up of timbers, all cast in place. The special feature of The Miklos Mine is the lighted mine shaft that gives the appearance of a tunnel continuing through the mountain. This is achieved with a mirror that is mounted to the back of the casting and includes a 12 volt grain of wheat bulb. The casting was designed for a diorama or as a mini scene for your train layout. This is a great piece for practicing your painting and modeling techniques. We recommend a primer coat of paint prior to painting.

Our highly detailed scenery castings used to be cast in plaster. They were very heavy and the cost of shipping was very expensive. We are now casting with a hard surface resin filled with foam. The response has been incredible. The castings are lite weight and shipping is less expensive.
