Black zinc is zinc plating (50um thick or more), followed by a black chromate conversion coating. The zinc coating resist corrosion, and it is nice appearance. Its anti-rust and anti-corrosion ability is much stronger than black oxide, suitable for environments with large temperature difference and high humidity. Such as furniture hardware, fasteners. But it is more expensive than black oxide.  Black Oxide hardware will corrode almost immediately in humid environments.
