We never machine the surface of our pumps. If they do not meet specs without machining we won't use them.
** If you're unsure of which 4L60E PWM pump you need (298MM or 300MM). Measure the shaft from the oil seal to the top of the shaft. If it's approximately 1.5 inches, you have a 298MM pump. If it's approximately 2 inches you have the 300MM pump.
