Vintage 1987 Mrs. Butterworth's Brown Amber Glass Syrup Bottle 11 inches tall. Condition is Used.

Glass bottle manufacturer mark: “B in a circle” trademark placed on the base by Brockway Glass Company Pennsylvania  (1933-1988)

The Circle-B logo is below the date code "87" with a mold number above "5022", and cavity number below.  "12" to the left of center on base indicates Brockway plant code number and stands for Zanesville, OH location.

In 1988, Brockway Glass Company assets were purchased by Owens-Illinois Inc, forming Owens-Brockway, Inc., now Owens-Brockway Glass Containers, Inc.

With some variations "B in a circle " mark was phased out around 1988.

No visible cracks or chips on this bottle.

Bottle is 11'' tall and 4 1/4'' round at bottom. Weights 1 lb 8 oz. Comes with the original yellow metal cap. Cap is rusty.

According to wsj article dated summer 2020:

"Conagra said Wednesday it will review its Mrs. Butterworth’s brand and packaging. The maple-flavored syrup is sold in a clear bottle in the shape of a matronly woman. Television ads have depicted a talking brown syrup bottle.

Conagra said the syrup packaging, which was created in the early 1960s, is intended to be an image of “a loving grandmother.”

“We understand that our actions help play an important role in eliminating racial bias and as a result, we have begun a complete brand and packaging review on Mrs. Butterworth’s,” the company said in a statement. Conagra acquired the brand when it bought Pinnacle Foods in 2018." End of quote.
