Each Paracord Awareness Ribbon Keychain is handmade using "550" cord, or parachute cord. It is a lightweight nylon kernmantle rope originally used in the suspension of parachutes. 550 cord is rated to 550 pounds breaking strength. This cord is being used now as a general purpose cord by both military and civilians. It is commonly being used for survivalists, crafts, and camping.

Each ribbon is about 3.5" long x 3" wide x .5" thick, with weight being about 2 oz. Slight weight, color, and size differences can occur due to manufacturer variations.
