Compatible with concrete subfloors, wood substrates, OSB, plywood floors, and cement backer boards, it is engineered to meet ANSI A118.12 crack prevention standards. The DITRA-HEAT-E-HK heating cable is approved for use in wet areas, meaning it can be safely installed in moisture-prone environments such as bathrooms and wet rooms. To ensure a secure bond and long-lasting performance, Schluter recommends using ALL-SET modified thin-set mortar adhesive (SETA50G or SETA50W) over plywood and wood substrates or SET unmodified mortar (SET50G or SET50W) over concrete substrates.

Schluter Systems recommends using the appropriate thin-set mortar for installing the Ditra Heat Membrane based on the type of subfloor. For plywood or other porous subfloors, use Schluter ALL-SET® (a modified thin-set mortar), which provides the necessary bonding strength. For concrete subfloors, use Schluter SET® (an unmodified thin-set mortar) to ensure proper adhesion and performance of the Ditra Heat Membrane.
