Application :  
Apply leather prep with a sponge, cloth or abrasive pad depending on condition of leather, this will remove the manufacturers finish, all dirt and grime and any chemicals that may prevent the colourant adhering to the leather or vinyl.

Then simply apply the colourant with a sponge or spray gun & allow to dry, Naturally is recommended for a good 24 - 48hrs then apply leather finish to seal in the colour, Drying time can be speeded up with a hairdryer if needed. 

Leather Prep:

A strong solvent based cleaner, used for removing the manufacturers finish from leather.

Description

Leather Prep is an essential part of any re-colouring or leather restoration process. The Leather Prep will remove the manufacturers finish from the leather, meaning that any repairs or colour work is being done directly to the leather, and not over any old and worn coatings. Along with removing the original finish, the Leather Prep will also remove any solvent soluble waxes, oils and silicones, which could otherwise cause adhesion problems down the line if not removed. Leather Prep is a very quick an effective solvent for removing these coatings, especially when used in conjunction with an Abrasive pad.

As the old coatings harden over time, the Leather Prep will also help soften the leather as the old, worn coatings are removed.

 


Leather Colourant:

 

The polyurethane leather colourants are water based and so are non harmful and non hazardous. 

We've made them very thin so they're extremely easy to apply, almost the same consistency of water, 

so they can be easily sprayed through any spraying equipment without causing blockages. 

The PU Colourants have been designed for colour restoration and colour change jobs so the pigment addition 

is very high allowing them to easily cover leather without the need for lots of applications.

Most importantly is their ability to resist scuffs and scratches. 

The PU Colourants are extremely hard wearing and will not scratch unless very heavily forced.

Applications

The PU Colourants are designed for restoring the colour and changing the colour of all leather items. The reason we recommend this colourant range over any other is the high rub fastness and scuff resistance characteristics: you will struggle to scuff or scratch them! The colour holds and will not fade, flake or peel, even after years of use. Not only are the colourants very hard wearing, but they also feel very soft and delicate (they will not dry out over the years), we've added controlled amounts of silicone into the base mixture to give it a lovely smooth and soft texture.

Leather Finish (Sealant)

 

The PU leather finish is water based and so non hazardous and non flammable. 

Based on an adaption of our polyurethane binder, once set, this leather finish is extremely hard wearing 

and long lasting. Its a clear thin liquid that is easy to apply and offers superior scuff and scratch resistance 

compared to standard leather finishes.

The finish has been designed to seal colour in after applying colour to a leathers surface. The finish far exceeds standard lacquers in both wet & dry rub fastness so you can be sure your colour is thoroughly sealed in. It also feels soft and natural on the leather, it does not make the leather feel like plastic or artificial in anyway. In fact it further adds and improves the touch and texture on leather, it has a very smooth, soft and silky feel, very natural and very appealing to customers.

COVERAGE

60ml: will cover a belt, wallet, purse etc.
250ml: Will restore a car seat, armchair or something of similar size.
500ml: For 2 car seats or 2 seater sofa.
1 Litre/1000ml: Full car interior or full leather suite (3 seater sofa & 2 chairs).

Applying

Easy to use just apply colourant with a soft clean sponge using light strokes applying as evenly as possible repeat if need to & allow to dry then apply our leather finish this will seal in the colour & make it tough to wear & scratches etc.

IMPORTANT: Our colourants are best used with our leather prep used for prepping the leather/vinyl before application of colourant this will thoroughly clean the area and remove the manufacturers finish which can cause adhesion problems. LEATHER FINISH MUST BE APPLIED ONCE COLOURANT HAS FULLY DRIED TO SEAL IN THE COLOUR.
