The Boss 4WD Complete DIY Dual Battery Kit is back! Our highly sought after kits include everything you need to install a dual battery system in your 4WD apart from the tools, labour and battery. Each kit includes one of our seriously strong auxiliary battery trays, a renowned Redarc SmartStart isolator, and a wiring kit that has been specced up to handle whatever you throw at it. We don't mess around when it comes to keeping your beer cold - our philosophy is to over-spec the cabling, ensuring that you're not going to be sipping on warm beer in the middle of the desert due to a faulty or poorly designed battery system.

Redarc SmartStart Isolator
The choice to use a Redarc isolator was pretty simple for us - if you're going to supply the best battery kit on the market, you want to be using the best isolator. Redarc are a staple name in the 4WD industry, and rightly so - they've earnt it. Over the years Redarc have proven time and time again that their simple yet advanced design of a heavy solenoid controlled by micro-processor is the most reliable isolator around.
We supply the 100 Amp continuous SmartStart Isolator as a standard inclusion in our kits. If you require a heavier option, we can supply their 200 Amp continuous model for a little extra.
Wiring Kit
Did we go a bit overboard when we designed our wiring kits? Some may say so, but we think they're spot on. By over-speccing the cable we supply (and use for our own vehicles) we can ensure that the cable will never "bottle-neck" the system, nor will it be the cause of a battery system failing.
We supply 35mm² (2B&S) Double Insulated Battery Starter cable in our kits, which is over twice the thickness of the cable supplied in many kits. This means that should you need to, you can jump-start yourself using the Redarc Isolator's Over-ride function. The gradual breakdown of cables due to heat and corrugated roads will also pose less of a problem.
We also supply heavy duty brass battery terminals, full metal crimp lugs, heat shrink, split corrugated conduit, and even cable ties. This means you'll be able to have the neatest, best performing battery system around. We even supply a basic wiring diagram to help you with the install. What this all means for you is cold beer
Battery Tray
An Auxiliary Battery Tray is a key component of a Dual Battery System, and will allow you to fit second (or sometimes even a third) battery under the bonnet of your 4WD.
This high quality steel - not plastic - battery tray is manufactured right here in Australia, and is not just another cheap imported copy. Each tray is designed specifically to suit a particular vehicle application, taking into consideration factors such as heat, strength and maximum battery sizes.
Our battery trays come as a complete kit along with fitting instructions, all required hardware, and a battery hold down clamp. We are even happy to supply a battery system wiring diagram free of charge if you purchase a battery tray or kit from us - simply send us your email address, and we will email you the pdf.
