PRINTED IN SUPER FINE PAPER WITH ETCHINGS ON HAND-MADE PAPER BY THE ARTIST, ONE OF THE GREATEST ETCHERS OF THE 19th CENTURY.
In very good condition having never been framed.
On extreme good thick wove textured paper with a sheet size 28.30 x 22.30 cms (11.14” x 8.78” Inches).
A very fine example of Francis S. Walker, one of the 19th Century style.

ENGRAVING OF AUTHENTICITY OF THE ETCHING BY THE ARTIST
Francis Sylvester Walker (1848–1916) was an Irish painter, illustrator and etcher.
Walker was the son of Thomas Walker, Master of the Workhouse at Dunshaughlin and Ann Delany of Clavistown Mills, Killmessan, County Meath. He studied Art at both the Royal Dublin Society (RDS) and the Royal Hibernian Academy (RHA), Dublin. He exhibited at the RHA in 1863, at Burlington House, London in 1905, and in various cities in Britain (Birmingham, Liverpool, Glasgow etc.). He also became a member of the Royal Society of Painters-Etchers and Engravers (RPE).
Walker painted landscapes, portraits and genre works and provided illustrations for various travel books. His works are currently exhibited in places such as the National Gallery of Ireland in Dublin, the British Museum and Victoria and Albert Museum in London.

Condition: Good condition, suitable for framing. Please check the photo for any blemishes prior to making your purchase. Virtually all antiquarian maps and prints are subject to some normal aging due to use and time which is not obtrusive unless otherwise stated. This example has few foxing, occasional foxing (very few to none), spots and yellowing but overall clean and bright, specially the artwork.
Comment: Very interesting original 1891 etching to be framed, very good size.
