This is a Garnet in the yellow-to-orange color. This orange-gold Mandarin Garnet is from Namibia or Nigeria has an excellent cut and clarity.  Garnets are one of the few gemstones that do not respond or take enhancements: so garnets are unaltered from their natural state--just cut and polished. Garnet has many varieties and multiple colors, this is an example of a orange-gold Mandarin garnet and Garnet is January's Birthstone.  This stone has a deep orange-gold, highly saturated, even color and is transparent.
All but this garnet is still sealed in its original box.  The photos were taken from various angles under full spectrum fluorescent light or flash. A sample stone for this lot was opened for photos, all the rest are still sealed.

from JTV's Gemopedia (TM):
While it was once just a collector's gem, spessartite, an orange variety of garnet, made its move into the mainstream during the 1990s when new deposits were discovered in Africa. Like most garnets, spessartite is typically untreated, so the beautiful color and clarity that you see in them is just as nature created it. Spessartite garnet is named after its first discovery in Spessart, Bavaria, in the mid 1800's.
from the internet:
Mandarin Spessartite Garnet is a rare form of orange garnet often referred to as Mandarin Garnet for its vivid orange color. These gems actually occur in a range of colors from yellowish orange to reddish orange and orange-red. ... The vivid orange is the most valuable, especially clean stones in larger sizes.
Rare Vivid Mandarin Orange Garnet from Nigeria. The bright orange or reddish-orange garnet known as spessartite is one of the most vivid and brilliant stones in the gems world. But specimens with top color are very rare in large sizes. The main quality factors are color and clarity.
