This listing is for an antique 4.25" tall treenware cup or goblet that has hand painted decorations. It features a figure of Napoleon, a Blue Bird & different species of flowers on a dark green background. There is some fine craquelure to the finish, the old oil paintings have faded and suffered some paint loss & wear over the years. If this cup could talk, I just know it would have some amazing stories to tell!
This treenware is in estate found condition, it is still together but it selling as-is with several cracks (the top of the cup moves when they are depressed, the cracks have weakened the top of the cup. It also has 2 very tiny chips around its top rim, and the already mentioned paint loss & fading.(please see all scans)
Overall it is a unique piece of antique folk art. An unusal example for your collection.
Its former owner had amassed a large collection of French & English art subjects from Porcelain & ceramics to Bronzes during her lifetime of travels in Europe. Her family has been slowly dispersing her collection for some time.
