The heating zone is fully insulated with 1" thick refractory ceramic fiber rated up to 2600°F, with a 1.25" thick refractory brick floor to resist high velocity firing.

Sliding Fire Brick Door:
The forge includes welded brackets for sliding fire brick to close off one end, along with pre-rigidized ceramic fiber blanket designed to extend the life of the insulation.
