Glass Beads - Spherical and Uniform
SlipResistant Glass Beads is available in many grit sizes from Superfine to Coarse:
SlipResistant Glass Beads is engineered to improve surface slip resistance, and is not an Anti-Slip or Non-Slip. It should not be expected to impart significant traction to an otherwise slippery substrate.
Traction or Grip is greatly influenced by the underlying pavement and is usually affected by slope, moisture as well as texture.
Shimicoat Pty Ltd does not recommend
the use of heavy coats on steep or smooth surfaces.
Add 250g to 500g of
Shimicoat SlipResistant Glass Beads to 20L solvent based products and mix
well.
DO NOT exceed 500g per 20L of sealer.
Mix during application, as the spherical-granular Glass Beads may settle.
Must be applied “Thin Coat” to ensure the particle protrudes correctly, to finish a slip resistant surface, do not allow to “Pool-On” application, as granular glass beads submerge and flat surface will be as untreated.
It is recommended that the suitability of this product be evaluated on a test patch prior to use.
Alternatively, SlipResistant Glass Beads can be scattered all over your prepared floor randomly at a rate of handful per 10sqm, followed by coating application of Epoxy, Polyurethane and many types of sealers. Roller application will distribute and redeposit the spherical-granular glass beads evenly over the entire floor.
