Fantastic blue and white plate made around 1909 to commemorate the inauguration of the 27th President of the United States of America,   On the front is "William Howard Taft along with James S Sherman who was Vice President..  Surrounding the picture are pictures of "The Capitol East Front and other key  buildings On the back: " R&M Co.  The Rowland & Marsellus Co. Staffordshire England Copyright." The plate has a diameter of 25.25cm and is 2.25cm deep. In really good condition and beautiful blue and white design. The only fault I can find is some minor defect to the glaze where another plate must have been put on top at the time of manufacture - no chips or cracks.
