Medal of Princess Marie Jose of Belgium
Demure small medal, with contemporary pin. It's 19mm in diameter, or rather less than 8/10 of an inch. Bronze like metal, the sunlight in the picture picks out the detail, but the patina is a dark brown, darker than shown. Rear side is blank. This representation is of the princess as a young girl. She became the last queen of Italy - queen consort, and went into exile when the country became a republic after WW2. She died in 2001 aged 94.
